April, 2010
May 4, 2010 Camp du Ballon Rouge is almost here! TSA of Texas’ 8th annual free camping weekend for children with TS will be held April 9-11, 2010 at Camp for All in Burton, TX. Spaces are filling up quickly, so get your application forms in immediately. Camp application forms may be downloaded from the TSA of Texas website at www.TouretteTexas.org. Tourette’s syndrome is an inherited neurobehavioral movement disorder characterized by motor and vocal tics. Beginning in childhood, it causes those affected to make movements and noises they cannot control. Additionally, many are plagued by obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder, oppositional behavior, and various learning disabilities. Studies indicate approximately 1 in every 100 school age boys and 1 in every 300-400 school age girls may be afflicted with TS. The views and recommendations expressed by speaker(s) at these support group meetings are not necessarily endorsed or promoted by the TSA of Texas or The Tourette Syndrome Association. The speaker’s views are provided for your information only. |
